It's time to

make more baby food! She loves Butternut squash, so I am adding a summer squash and zucchini squash. We are also trying broccoli and avocado. She has had avocado before, but only once when she first started eating solids. We are going to try again now that she likes food! ha!

Shutterfly

I have had a few friends who have blogged about this promotion with Shutterfly. I have used Shutterfly for cards and prints in the past, and I have been really happy with them! I really like their cards this year. There are traditional cards, and also fun colorful cards. They have folding greeting cards that are made out of a heavier paper, and the flat photo cards that are a little cheaper, but still really cute.

I love to send out Christmas cards and 50 free cards is a very good deal! It is always so hard to pick a design. I have been looking for a couple of weeks and cannot decide on one! I may do like I did with C's birth announcements and have a few different designs! Anyway, just thought I would share. It is always fun to find ways to save money this time of year!

Here are a few of the Christmas Cards that I love!

I love how colorful this is! It is not just the basic green and red, but it is still Christmas.

I love the big picture and it is still colorful!

This one also has the big picture, and I love the red and blue!

I like the nativity in this one, and the three pics for three kids!

Love the black with the bright colors!

I love how simple and classic this is!

Ok. That is more than a few! And the sad thing is ~ I could keep going! ha!

It's Friday - I'm in love

Week 37.
We picked out our tree today. She loved being outside and watching the big kids run around and touching all the trees. She also really enjoyed her first taste of a candy cane! She doesn't really seem to care that there is now a big tree in the living room, maybe I will get by with her not trying to pull up on the tree this year! Sean's parents are here, so I have had lots of help, she has had lots of attention, and Sean is getting lots of project done! I love long weekends!

Thanksgiving 2010

The only picture I took! Carolina is very thankful for Grandma's who came all the way from Minnesota to snuggle!

Mischief

Carolina is all over the place. Just look how happy making a mess makes her! ha! I don't know how many times I put her toys back into that bucket yesterday. Then why play with all those toys. I mean if Dad leaves his hat and Garrett decides to change clothes in the living room, then hats and jeans are fair game to chew on! I can't turn my head for a minute! ha! Garrett will tell me she is up to mischief, which I think is so cute!

Speaking of little man, I am about to interrupt this

so I can get some last minute things before Sean's parents get here. I am hoping if I go to the store early enough it won't be too crazy. After today I will not step foot in the door of a store for several days, unless someone makes me! Crowds make me nervous!

Out-takes

I just thought these were funny. They were taken last Friday. She usually leaves her bow alone, but I guess she got a glimpse of it and pulled it over her eyes. What's funny is she didn't even fuss, she just looked around like she was trying to figure out what was going on. Ha!

The Birthday Boy

Just barely, but it is still his 9th birthday! Garrett is such a precious boy. He is all boy, but also knows when you need a hug. His last two teachers have had bad news about a family member while at school, and both times Garrett has gone over and hugged them. He still checks on me when I am laughing to make sure I am not crying (I guess it sounds similar, and for a long time I would be crying). Soccer season is over, and basketball just began last week. He is on a new team this year and so far loves it! His cousin is on his team and the coach seems really nice. He already has a nick name ~ Big Garrett!

Happy Birthday, Little Man!!

Science Fair

This is my sweet boy with his science fair project. The project that won first place in his division. The project he worked hard on. The project he got to put food coloring in the toilet for! ha! He loves science. When we got the info for the science fair he was very adamant he wanted to do something with a tornado and a hurricane. He and Sean found this and it was right up his ally. I mean food coloring in the toilet! What could be more fun for an 8 year old! I am so very proud of him. This has been a tough year for him. I am just so very proud of him!

Crawling

Oh how quickly life is changing. She is everywhere, all at once! She is quickly learning the word "no", and she does not like it! She is also learning how to play with something like a toy and as soon as my back is turned darting for the tv. The tv has all sorts of interesting things like the Wii next to it, and surround sound speakers! Fun stuff! The dog is also getting in on this. The mailman gives her treats everyday. She does not eat them, she brings them in and carries them around for a while dropping it here and there so the baby tries her best to get to them. She will also bring one of her nasty toys and drop it next to Carolina. Now if I put one of Carolina's toys there, she would ignore it. Barbie dropping a nasty toy she has chewed on there, and Carolina does her best to get to it! ha! She has discovered she can crawl to the windows and look outside. That is quickly becoming her favorite! I have lots of baby proofing to do!

It's Friday - I'm in love

Week 35. She is also 8 months old today! She is crawling like crazy all of a sudden. She is everywhere. fast. Our dog leaves her toys and treats around the house, and before that was really no big deal. Now Carolina tries her best to get them. I think the dog is leaving them close to her just to see me run as quickly as I can to get to the milkbone before Carolina does! ha! I had to take her outside to get pics today. Even then she was much more interested in eating all the sticks and leaves she could pick up. I did finally get a tooth shot!

OK. At 8 months you are
~Crawling all over the place
~Nursing 5-6 times a day
~Will eat sweat potatoes, butternut squash, and brown rice cereal
~You also love bananas
~Have one and a half teeth
~Wear size 3 diapers (for now)
~Wearing size 18 month clothes
~Starting to say mama when you really want something
~Love puffs and baby mum mums
~Starting to actually drink grape juice out of your sippy cup

One Year Later

One year ago we saw this perfect little hand.

And this perfect little foot.

This perfect profile.

And this perfectly beautiful heart.

All the anxiety of that ultrasound just about killed me. I just cannot describe our feelings going into that room. I know if something had been wrong, God would have sustained me. I just don't know how. I love Evan. I love his broken heart, I love his 12 fingers and 11 toes, I love everything thing about him. I just did not want Carolina to have to go through the same thing. I didn't want to have to go through that again. I am just reminded one year later how very grateful I am. Grateful to have been able to hold Evan for 6 days here on Earth. Thankful for Carolina and her health. Thankful for the big kids also. Just so very thankful.
This cracks me up. One is her ultrasound, and the other is right after we took her home. Long skinny feet!

It's Friday - I'm in love

Week 34. She had a nap and is a much happier baby right now. She is sitting on the couch with Daddy who is eating sun chips. Have you heard how loud those bags are! She is having a blast! We added butternut squash to her diet this week. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and decided to make it before it went bad. She really only eats her cereal, but she likes the squash! Maybe she will eat one day! She is trying really hard to get that 2nd tooth through. She had bit me while nursing a few times. If anyone has any suggestion to stop that I would love to hear them!
